~ French - Circa 1900 ~

~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A stunning original antique French gilt bronze clock. It is modelled in the Baroque style with acanthus decoration and a large, elaborate urn. The front and sides are fretted to allow the pendulum to be seen gently swinging within. It has been beautifully prepared in our workshop, ready for you to display.

The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with a finely fretted centre and blued steel hands.

The French movement is by Samuel Marti and is of high quality. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video available of the clock running, please ask.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition just some tiny nibbles to the winding holes.

Samuel Marti mark on the movement backplate

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
