Description

Elliott are considered by many to be the best 20th Century Mechanical Clock Maker. They produced many RAF Dial Clocks and Maintained Big Ben at Westminster.

Charming Oak Cased Granddaughter Clock with Elliott Westminster or Whittington Quarter Chiming 8 Day “SILENT OVER NIGHT” Movement.

This movement was introduced in 1954 by Elliott which Automatically Goes Silent between 11pm and 7am. In addition it also has a Silent Lever if you want it Silent at other times of the day. The beat is regulated by a French Platform Suspension, so there is no need to balance a pendulum. This particular clock dates to the late 1950s.
