Description

Naive oil on canvas of a jockey's waiting for the start of a race. The painting is unframed, signed Robert Perniaux and dated 1943. There is the artists stamp on the rear.

Robert Perniaux (1906 - 1973) was an architect, painter, ceramist and Belgian illustrator. He studied at the the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and i s listed in Piron. Perniaux was the husband of the painter Georgette Devroye with whom he lived with in Marseille.
