An exquisite early 20th century Giltwood cartel clock by the quality manufacturer Zenith.
Zenith was formed in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jacot. He was the Pioneer of the total manufacturer concept and achieved this by uniting all the watchmaking professions under one roof. This approach allowed the quality of his product to be controlled and enabled him to build a reputation for high quality, reliable timepieces.
This quality can clearly be seen in this clock. The precision made movement has a fully jewelled platform with an "overcoil" balance spring and bimetalic fully compensated balance, along with the substantial ( for its size ) wheels and plates, this is a clock that has been made to last and more importantly accurate. The attention to detail even extends to the lugs made to lift the movement out of its case. They are stout, well made steel loops that have a substantial rivet to the back plate.
The well carved gilt case with a floral theme is starting to display the lovely patina that is only seen after 100 years of careful ownership.
This clock has been fully overhauled by our Master Clockmaker and comes with a full three years guarantee to ensure peace of mind in your investment.
