Description

A nice example of a Georgian country oak dresser dating from the early 19th century, most likely originating from Wales. The base contains two large drawers above two cupboards. The drawers and doors have their original bone inlaid escutcheons and small turned woden knobs. The dresser has a large rack with three shelves. Each shelf has a row of metal hooks, some original and some later replacements. The dresser is set on elegant bracket feet with an additional supporting foot in the middle of the base.

It is in good condition throughout and is a good sturdy piece of furniture. It is not without some signs of age and use and some shrinkage between the back boards but this has all helped to develop a beautiful rich patina over the years. There are no major damages and the drawers and doors open well. It has been well maintained and as such there are some small historical repairs but nothing detrimental and it displays beautifully. It has been given a thorough clean and light wax and is ready use.
