Impressive pair of table lamps with large late 19th.c. spelter figures of a man trying to tame a rearing horse c.1880. Modelled after the huge marble originals commissioned by Louis XIV for the Chateau de Marly, they are often referred to as ‘Marly horses’. With a single bulb raised on a brass tube at the back of each figure. Missing the reins from one of the horses. Otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and rewired and sold with a PAT test certificate.
