Description

Signed Oil on Panel of boats on a rough sea. The seascape is signed Hendrik Vader (1928 - 1987) and mounted in a quality wooden frame. Hendrik Vader often painted under this pseudonym . He real name was Conelius Corsius, who was a sailor and artist. The name Hendrick Vader was an invention of art dealer P J Daleman from Den Haag, for whom the painter Cornelis Corsius worked on regular basis.

Corsius gained popularity at the end of the sixties at Pierre Jansen. He painted mainly for the art dealers that often sold his work internationally.

The painting dates from around 1950-1960.
