Bohemian Enamelled Green Glass Jug in Historismus Style with Coat of Arms

Description

A Bohemian green glass jug, circa 1880, enamelled in colours in the Historismus (historical revival) style, with a coat of arms, the shield flanked by two bears and surmounted by a crown, within enamelled borders, the hand blown jug of tapering form with loop handle and a small spout.

In excellent condition.

NB: This type of historical revival glass was especially popular following the reunification of Germany in 1871, manufactured in traditional style and decorated with enamelled fictional coats of arms.
