Georgian Silver "Flower Basket" Pin Cushion by Joseph Taylor, Circa 1800.

Description

This exquisite silver pin cushion modelled as a flower basket was made circa 1800. These early pin cushions are quite scarce hence very desirable.

The silver basket engraved with flowers and shells and fitted with a rope-twist articulated handle. The base with basket-weave decorations. The blue velvet cushion, later replaced, is most probably Victorian.

Hallmarks:

IT for Joseph Taylor, under the handle.

Dimensions:

Height: 3cm / 1.2 inches.

Width: 3cm / 1.3 inches.

Depth: 2 cm / 0.6 inch.

Condition:

Excellent.
