A 1920s Rode half hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a high grade stem-winding movement,which is working well. The movement is signed Rode Watch Co, 17 seventeen jewels, 5 five adjustments, Swiss made. The movement also has jewelled pallets and a micro regulator. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 50.7mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and is the Star model made by the Dennison Watch Case Company. The case has light surface marking from use but overall it is in nice condition for a 1920s piece. The front cover has a small lens surrounded by blued enamel filled Roman numerals.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside the acrylic lens is in nice condition.

The white enamel dial has a couple of tiny nibbles to the outer edge at 4 & 11 o'clock and a couple of very small faint hairline cracks at 4 o'clock although only visible with a jewellers loupe. Note the special hour hand for half hunter watches, so that the hands can be distinguished between when the front cover is closed.

The watch has its original blued steel hands.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
