Hobson May Collection has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The condition of this antique stool is good, especially considering its long life of practical use. There is slight wear to the base of one leg, this does not affect the stability of the stool and it stands solidly with no wobbles. A good example of industry in the early 19th Century when English lace makers worked in their own home. This is a useful, interesting and attractive stool, easy to place in the modern home.
