Antique Georgian Period Oak Bureau C1780

Antique Georgian Period Oak Bureau and dating from around 1780. Constructed from solid oak it has a fall front with brass escutcheon and working key that opens to reveal a very nice interior and rests on sliding lopers with small brass button handles. To the centre is a row of pigeon holes over two long drawers and flanked on either side by three smaller drawers all of which are oak lined with brass knob handles. It has a green Baise Writing surface. To the base there are four long graduating drawers all of which are oak lined with brass handles and escutcheons. It is moulded to the base and stands on bracket feet.

MEASURES: 41” HIGH X 20” DEEP X 41.5” WIDE AND WRITING SURFACE HEIGHT 27.5”

With a lovely deep colour and patination and oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
