Antique Console Hall Table in 17th Century Style

19th century
Description

A Continental antique long console or hall table in 17th century style, the top with a moulded edge and egg and dart type detailing upon a pair of of cup and over type trestle supports upon foliate carved scroll feet, joined by a scroll carved, shaped stretcher.

A very attractive and nicely detailed table dating from the late 19th century, I believe it's made from stained beech, the top and the carved sections are solid wood, the scroll feet and the shaped stretcher are veneered on the flat sections. In good overall condition, there is some unevenness to the staining of the top and some sections of missing veneer to the base. Nice and solid and of sturdy construction.

Would make an excellent hall table or used as a console table behind a sofa.

77.5cm high x 166cm long x 51cm deep.
