A superb and most charming painting by Eugene Petit renowned for his flowers paintings. (1839-1886)

Eugene Petit was born in Paris in 1839.[1] He briefly taught the American painter Henry Woodbridge Parton, ca. 1875.[3]
He specialized in still life paintings of flowers and fruits, as well as sporting dogs.
[1][2] Some of his work has been auctioned at Bonhams.[5][6] One of his hunting scenes, "On the Scent, Setters" sold at Sotheby's in New York for $13,200 in 2006.[7]
