This is a lovely, heavy claret jug.
The silver-plated top is in excellent condition, with a curved handle and Bacchus, the god of the grape harvest, winemaking and wine on the spout. Underneath the join of the handle to the top, there is the stamp of ''Falstaff'', which was the trading name for A E Williams and Sons Ltd, Birmingham, England.
