Antique Victorian Walnut Dome Top Writing Slope

19th century
Description

A lovely Victorian writing slope in beautiful walnut with an attractive domed top, brass escutcheon and matching brass cartouche. Inside, the box is fitted with a good quality green leather writing surface with gold tooling. There is also a removable pen tray and a glass inkwell with brass top.

It is in excellent condition for its age. The brass has been lightly polished and it displays very well inside and out. There are no major damages to the wood exterior and the patination is beautiful. There are some small knocks and minor signs of age and use but nothing that affects the overall appearance of the box. The box does not come with a key.
