Pair of Georgian Silver Sugar Nips by Stephen Adams I, London 1764

Description

This is an exquisite pair of Georgian silver sugar nips. Scissor form “sugar nippers” were made between 1720 until around 1765 when they changed to the U shaped tongs.

Shell cast bowls and dated central pivot. The reverse side engraved with initials.

Hallmarks:

Lion Rampant.

Maker's marks SA for Stephen Adams I

Dimensions:

Length: 11cm / 4.5 inches.

Condition:

Very good.

Scissor mechanism in full working order.

No repairs.

Marks partially rubbed but identifiable.

Finger rings not mis-shapen.

Postage UK: £7 Special Delivery Next day.
