Description

Antique Victorian chests of drawers of this design, size, quality & condition are very hard to find. It's ten times harder to find them in burr walnut & this one is a fabulous example. The burr walnut on the drawer fronts has a really lovely dense pattern. The deep drawers are graduated in depth & as you can see, the bottom drawer is extra deep because it's attached to the plinth base. All the drawers have fine dovetails, turned bun handles & locks, plus they all work well too. The top is solid walnut, the front sides are curved & this chest sits on bun feet below the plinth. It's well over a year since I've had this model of chest & I have been looking hard. It dates to around the 1860-70's period & is in excellent original condition, plus it has a wonderful colour.
