Description

This very impressive antique leather wing armchair is still upholstered in the original leather & I would date it to around the 1880-90’s period, although it may be older. It’s very comfortable with the high back, large proportions, sloped back & loose cushion. The original leather has loads of character & is naturally distressed with a gorgeous colour. The inside back, wings & arms are all deep buttoned. I love the way the top of the back rolls over. The leather is hand tacked onto the frame. The bold front legs which look like solid walnut are deeply carved on the knees, with have ball & claw feet. There is no major damage to the leather, however there will be the odd marks or indentations, which are to be expected for leather of this age. This has to be one of the finest examples of a single leather wing armchair I’ve had.
