A single drawer is hidden in the apron which is held closed on a sprung catch only accessible from inside the bookcase which is itself held closed with an unusual original lock which catches both above and below the right hand door. Well figured mahogany veneers and lovely crisp brass mounts featuring winged lions and eagles heads, Classical/Babylonian motifs typical of the Empire style. Also raised on large carved claw feet. A few very small chips to the marble, otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Key supplied.
