Small Late 18th Century Verge Bracket Clock

Description

A small late 18th century BRACKET CLOCK by Johnson of Grays Inn Passage in London. The break-arch mahogany case is surmounted by a cast brass handle set within a brass-edged pad, whilst the front door features a cast brass inner frame.

The eight-day movement retains its original verge escapement, striking hours on a bell, whilst the dial features "Strike/Silent" control in the arch. Engraved signature to both the dial and to the backplate. Perfect working order and guaranteed for at least two years. 16.5ins (42cms) tall.
