Victorian Antique Silver Tea Caddy 1897

Description

A superbly decorated English ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER TEA CADDY made by the silversmiths of Barker Brothers in 1897.

This quality heavy gauge Solid Silver Tea Caddy is of oval form with a hinged lid and is all-over decorated with an attractive embossed fluting and scroll design. Inside the original gilt coating is still vibrant.

The hinged lid fits perfectly and there is very little sign of use or wear to this superb Tea Caddy and there are no added inscriptions, monograms or initials (see condition report). This fabulous Antique Tea Caddy is in excellent condition and would enhance any silver collection.

Condition:

Used / Excellent

There is no damage and no repairs.

Possibly had an engraving removed from the cartouche at some point in the past – hardly noticeable but mentioned for accuracy.

Height – 3.25” (82mm) / Width – 3.0” (75mm) / Depth -1.75” (44mm)
