Description

An excellent example of an early georgian walnut chest of drawers, with polished figured book-matched walnut top inset herringbone inlay, crossbanded & cross cut applied moulding. Three short over three long dovetailed graduated drawers with inset burr walnut stringing, lovely period pierced brass handles, lock & escutcheons, set within moulded cock-beaded front , old polished sides and solid timber back stood on bracket feet.

All veneers good and stable ,drawers clean and run well, sides possibly veneered in the past but overall superb warm colour and patination throughout. Bought from a private collection.
