1918 Omega Pocket Watch in Niello Case

1900 - 1920
Description

A rare 1918 Omega pocket watch in a high quality Niello silver case. An enamel dial with Arabic numerals and red 24 hour outer numerals. A subsidiary seconds dial to 6 o'clock. A very well decorated case in a typical Art Deco style. The process of making a Niello pattern involves heat firing a composition of materials onto a metal case and was a very time consuming and expensive process. These styles of cases were primarily created by Swiss case makers, including Huegenin and Duchine. An Omega caliber 18 LPB mechanism. Serial numbers date this watch to c1918.
