Edwardian Adjustable Oak & Brass Reading Stand C.1905.

Description

An Edwardian era Carters Literary Machine, combined reading or music stand and side table c.1905. Ideal for use beside a chair or bed. Oak bookstand with brass page stays, angle and position adjustable on a horizontal brass arm. Over a 15" diameter circular oak table with raised and moulded edge. Both elements are independently height adjustable a brass column with ball finial and raised on a heavy cast iron base. Excellent condition with serial number and original maker’s label to the rear of the bookstand.
