Merchant House Antiques has dated this piece to the 1930s.

The bookcase has eight open book shelves which could also be used for displaying precious glass and other Art Deco collectables from the period. The backs of these open sections are veneered in the same attractive wood as is the whole piece. The handles, key plate and hinges are nickel plated and the original key opens both the top and lower sections.

Internally, the light tan leather writing surface is the original and has the accompanying marks of age and use. There are 2 large and 3 smaller drawers, all beautifully made from solid Maple and showing finely made dovetails. To the left hand side are three stationary sections in made in tiers.

The dimensions are;- Height 53 ins..135 cm. Width 43.5 ins..110 cm. Depth 14 ins..46 cm. The 2 outside sections are 12 ins..30 cm deep with a book shelf depth of 11.5 ins..29 cm.
This stunning bookcase has been well cared for over the years. We have simply lightly refurbished it with a good clean and then wax polished to maintain the delightful original finish and mellow patination. A fine original piece!
