Youngs Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
To the bottom there is a heavy molded skirt running front and sides that is fixed to the stiles.
To the sides, there is plain duel panels with molded boarders. The drawer fronts have later brass handles but still has the original locks and escutcheons.
The chest has had some wood worm in the past and a few old repairs commiserate with age but has fantastic colour and is in excellent condition.
