A Rare Victorian Novelty Silver Plated Goat Cruet

A delightful mid-Victorian silver plated cruet set, modelled as a goat drinking from a trough. The body is struck with the "Victorian Lozenge" which not only certifies the registered patent of an item but allows the identification of the exact date of its registration, in this particular case, 1871.

The cast goat is standing on naturalistic base and drinking from a trough which is a removable open salt with a rich gilt interior.

The saddle is fitted with both pepper pot and mustard pot with matching spoon.

The centre has a removable carrying handle with loop finial.
