Early Victorian Silver Mounted Hard Stone Desk Seal , Circa 1850

Description

This is a very unusual small silver mounted desk seal. The lozenge-shaped green agate handle mounted with an engraved silver mount. The mount with gemstone matrix, most probably citrine.

Hallmarks:

Unmarked as was very often the case with small desk seals, but tested as silver.

Dimensions:

Length: 4cm / 1.5 inches.

Width: 2.5cm / 1 inch.

Condition:

Excellent.
