Description

Victorian teak secretaire military chest

Here we offer you a Victorian teak secretaire military chest, one of the best you are likely to see on the market.

Having the rare feature of a narrow secretaire desk drawer which is the lowest thin drawer in the top half, that slides out in a telescopic action on runners. The drawer is fitted with a leather inset writing surface that is edged in satin birch. It lifts (on hinges) to allow a stationary rack to lift into place. There are multiple storage sections, cubby holes, a secret compartment with drawers and compartments.

This Victorian teak secretaire military chest brass is fitted shaped flush brass handles and strap corners. It was made in 2 parts for ease of movement when it was to be transported around the British Empire.
