Pair of William & Mary Oak Side Chairs

Description

A superb pair of late 17th Century oak side chairs, the splat backs supporting an unusual inverted cresting rail with scrolled carving. These chairs stand firmly on block and turned legs with a turned front stretcher. The colour and patination are excellent. The seats have had a historic restoration to the undersides, this is not usual to chairs of this age and construction and does not affect the appearance of stability of these solid chairs. A beautiful pair of early oak chairs to enhance any interior.
