Mid Victorian Silver Mounted Horn Beaker, London 1857

Description

This is a simple and elegant Victorian silver mounted horn beaker. The tall body with a solid silver reeded rim and applied to the centre with a vacant escutcheon. The rim with a full set of marks, now partially worn. Glass base.

Hallmarks:

Partially erased.

Maker's marks: IC

Lion Passant.

London date letter "b" for 1857.

Dimensions:

Height: 11cm / 4.4 inches.

Rim diameter: 7.5 cm / 3 inches.

base diameter: 5cm / 2 inches.

Condition:

Very good.

Silver in very good condition.

horn in glossy condition.

Marks partially erased.
