Fine Quality German Opera Glasses and Case C.1900

Description

A superb quality pair of opera glasses made from polished brass and Abalone shell with it's iridescent qualities showcasing a myriad of colours.

The shell has a bright shiny patina and is incorporated in each of the two eye pieces and a central polished circular cabochon piece of shell finishing off the centre of the bridge.

Each of the eye pieces are engraved with the manufacturer / retailer "Optiker Overhage / Elberfeld".

They come complete with their original leather case with fuchsia coloured silk lining.

Dating to around 1900, they remain in superb condition, the case measuring 4 5/8" x 2 1/8" x 3 1/2" tall.
