Antique French Ormolu Brass Mounted Glass Scent Bottle

Description

A superb antique glass scent bottle cased in a brass ormolu mount featuring traditional leaves and a scrolling bow engraved with a pretty floral design. It is most likely French and dates from the mid to late 19th Century. The mount surrounds two small mirrors on either side of the bottle, a wonderful and rare feature. The bottle has a hinged lid with its original ground glass stopper.

It is in excellent condition for its age. There are no damages on the brass mount and no damages or chips on the glass bottle. The hinge is in reasonably good strong order and the mirrors are original. There are minor signs of age and wear and use but nothing detrimental. It displays very well and is certainly usable too.
