Supported on square tapering Georgian style supports with brass castors and united by a solid mahogany under-tier with a further brass gallery. This desk is veneered in the finest flame veneers throughout and is finished all around so it can be free standing in the centre of a room. English circa 1890-1900

This specific form is supposed to have been designed in the 18th century for the Prince of Wales (who later became George IV) by George Hepplewhite. It is named after Carlton House, which was at the time the London residence of the Prince of Wales
