Large Chest of Drawers with Exceptional Douglas Fir Veneers C.1880.

Description

Superb quality large late 19th.c. pine chest of drawers c.1880. Lots of useful storage with two short drawers over three long drawers of graduated depth (10? internal depth in the bottom drawer). Top, front and sides with exceptionally well figured douglas fir veneers of extraordinary swirling grain laid on solid groundwork of straight grained Scots pine or similar. With an unusual rosewood trim to the edges of the top and drawer fronts. Original heavy brass handles with a circular cutaway at the centre revealing a carved roundel in the timber below. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
