This is an antique pole screen, an English, Regency fire screen with needlepoint panel dating to the early 19th century, circa 1820.

Raised on a fine mahogany stand with good colour and grain interest

Standing upon a tripod of beautifully swept legs over miniature bun feet

Classical overtones to the turned and tapered pole

Adjustable, circular needlepoint silk screen

Well executed, depicting exotic birds in a tree

The pole capped with a delightfully turned finial
