Regency Rosewood "X" Frame Canterbury

19th century
Description

An attractive Regency period solid rosewood CANTERBURY or MAGAZINE RACK of particularly good quality and in very fine original condition.

Constructed of solid rosewood which has now acquired a lovely warm colour, the three divisions are decorated with carved laurels, with four stylised acorn finials to each corner. To the frieze is a mahogany-lined drawer with further carving to its front, whilst it is supported on turned legs with good cast brass castors.

Make no mistake, this is a very good example by a talented cabinetmaker, in much better-than-average condition! 20ins (51cms) wide.
