Description

A charming and very pretty late 18th century tortoiseshell TEA CADDY in wonderful original condition. The gabled "tented" top with its ten segments is surmounted by a cast silver "bow" handle, and opens to reveal the original lead lining. To the front is the silver escutcheon, below which is the vacant oval silver cartouche with a double border of inlaid "pique-work" dots. 5ins wide.
