1952 Gold Jw Benson Wristwatch

Description

A 1952 9K gold JW Benson wristwatch. An unusual two tone dial with Roman numerals inside an outer track. Blued steel 'pencil' hands and a subsidiary seconds dial. A 9K gold case made by Dennison with elegant 'clawed' lugs. An English made manual mind 16 jewel mechanism signed 'JW Benson', made by Smiths. JW Benson used Smiths mechanisms in some of their mechanisms and were usually featured with a higher number of jewels than the standard range. This watch has an impression of Queen Elizabeth the 2nd's head in the case back, honoring the year she became Queen in 1952.
