A Superb Early 18th Century Walnut Knee-hole Desk

Description

A superb early 18th Century walnut veneered knee-hole desk, having a single large drawer over 6 smaller drawers and a central cupboard.

The top of the desk is veneered in quarter sawn figured walnut with herringbone and cross banded boarders and again the drawers having figured walnut veneers and the same design boarders. The central cupboard is fitted with a shelved interior and the drawers have later early 18th century brass handles.

The desk has a few old chips and age related marks and some old shrinkage splits in the drawer pans and one in the cupboard door. However it is in excellent condition and has a fabulous colour. The key unfortunately is missing.
