Mahogany Striking Bracket Clock. Russell of Liverpool.

1900 - 1920
Description

A very attractive mahogany bracket clock by Russells Ltd, 18, Church St., Liverpool. Brian Loomes "Clockmakers of the World" lists them as "Makers to the Queen".

The superb lancet top mahogany case has boxwood stringed inlay and diamond shaped rosewood cartouche to the front. There are quarter reeded columns to the corners with brass doric capitals and brass inlays to the lower half. This is a feature usually seen on high class London clocks. It stands on brass bun feet with brass finials to the top. There is a superb patina to the case.

The 6" convex, enamelled dial has black Arabic numerals and is signed with the makers name. It is totally free of any chips, cracks or crazing. It has a heavy, cast brass bezel with convex glass.

The 8 day French made movement strikes on the half-hour and the hour and has just been fully serviced by our BHI registered staff. It carries our usual 12mths parts and labour guarantee.

A very sophisticated clock.

All cards accepted.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
