Very handsome George III mahogany writing bureau c.1790. Open the fall to reveal a good sized work surface and simple fitted interior of six pigeon holes, six slim stationery drawers and a small lockable centre compartment with two more drawers inside. Over four long drawers of graduated depth and raised on shaped and splayed bracket feet. Restrained design and superb early timbers, the top, fall, sides and drawer fronts all in solid mahogany of particularly good colour. Oak drawer linings and loafers. Original brass handles, fall lock and key. Excellent condition, simply cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
