A Rare Georgian Silver Tape Measure

A rare Georgian silver tape measure. This delightful item of sewing ware has a repousse silver casing with a winding ring to retract the tape. The original decorated tape is present and unusually, is complete. The casing is decorated with fruiting vine and is most attractive. A lovely and collectable piece of early sewing ware. Condition :- Excellent, with no dents, splits or losses

Hallmarks :- Unmarked but tests as silver. Small items of Georgian silver were often unmarked.

Date :- c1800.

Depth :- 3 cms. (including ring).

Diameter :- 2.25 cms.
