The writing box/slope in red Moroccan leather with gilt tooling. The lid with an inset brass handle, the facing body with a gilt key hole escutcheon. The box hinging open to form a writing slope, in black Moroccan leather, with gilt tooling.
Height 5 1/2 inches, width 12 inches, depth 8 1/2 inches.
Date 1850.
