Large Rococo Ormolu Antique French Clock by Vincenti

A very fine and substantial ormolu table clock by Vincenti. It is of the the highest quality, beautifully modelled and finished in glorious ormolu (finely gilded doré bronze). The case is of classic Rococo design, bold, waisted keyhole shape with acanthus leaf shoulders, floral swags, 'C' scroll feet standing on a serpentine base. To the top a large rococo flourish. The front and sides have sound frets backed with fabric. We have carefully and completely cleaned and restored the clock to a very high standard.

The large and stunning dial is enamel on copper and is complete with it's original finely fretted gilt brass hands and convex bezel. The rear door is glazed to allow the movement to be seen.

The French movement is of high quality and is by the renown clockmaker Vincenti. The makers mark is on the movement backplate along with the Paris retailer H & F. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is an old replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video clip of the clock running, please ask.

Condition of the case is excellent, beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition with no damage. We have replaced the red fabric with fresh. The rear glass has some scratching. This is very fine clock to add to your collection.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
