Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The hinged lid opens to reveal the tiny glass stopper to the bottle.
The hinge is in perfect working order the lid snaps nicely shut and the interior reveals it's wonderful gilding.

Both halves of the case are hallmarked for Birmingham 1901, early Edwardian and at the height of the Art Nouveau movement.
A little ring to the reveal suggests it was to be used on a chatellaine.
The silver is hallmarked for Birmingham 1905, making this an Edwardian example. The makers mark is hard to see.

Excellent condition (one minor indentation to one side really only found be feel, but mentioned for accuracy); measuring 1 3/8" across x 2" tall.
