Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1750s.
With a trumpet ended brass barrel. The barrel tapering toward a ringed and thence octagonal rear end. The barrel engraved with rising leaves proof marked and stamped 'DUBLIN'. The steel flint lock mechanism with scrolled floral decoration, and engraved for 'THOMPSON'.
Height 8 inches, width 30 1/2 inches, depth 3 inches.
Date c 1780.
