Sampson Mordan Seamless Silver Vesta Case Chester 1912

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Woodbridge Antiques

A truly superb solid silver Vesta Case. The pattern is a stunning engine turned design with an empty cartouch in the centre on the front of the case. The design is unusual as it is seemless all around the case . The lid is hinged to one side and when opened reveals a very pleasing golden gilded finish to the interior. There is a loop for attachment. Very clear hallmarks are visible on the inside lip of the Vesta case and also to the inside of the lid for the Chester Assay Office with a date mark for 1912 and maker''s marks for the renowned maker Sampson Mordan.

A particularly collectable Vesta case, unusual and in superb antique collector''s condition. It is a very heavy gauge silver (59.5 grams) and feels so nice and solid when held.

Condition: Great antique collector''s condition.
