Antique English Oak and Brass Post and Delivery Letter Caddy

Description

A wonderful shape and unusual form, this Victorian letters box was made to hang on the wall for collection of outing "Post" and letters for hand "Delivery".

These wonderful pieces would have been in a smart hotel, private club or aristocratic residence and mail placed in the box for taking either to the post office or hand delivered; very civilized!

The highly polished pierced or reticulated brass panels looks wonderful against the warmth of the wood, each plate is removable for easy cleaning.

Excellent condition with a couple of grain hairlines running from the hook at the top (insignificant but mentioned for accuracy), measuring 12" x 6".
